Spring Living | Picnic in the Queen's Park

Cherry Blossom trees - London St James Park - Spring

In light of the much welcomed 4-day weekend during the Easter holidays, my sisters suggested we go for a picnic. This was always going to be tricky to plan considering how unpredictable the weather is in London. Banking on the Sun for Good Friday, we decided to give Spring living a chance and head out to St James's Park. One of London's oldest of the eight Royal Parks and includes The Mall and Horse Guards Parade.

With the Cherry Blossom trees in full bloom in and around London we took to the park like Spring was here to stay but with the sun playing pick-a-boo the picnic was not as long as I would have loved, as it suddenly got a bit chilly and it was time to head back home for a proper cup of tea. That wasn't before my niece and nephew had played football with Mr Awesome and  chased the pigeons around the park, fed the ducks, or made bubbles from the soap and bubble gun. All the while my sisters and I were enjoying a leisure moment with some lemonade, sandwiches and dessert while chilling out to Emeli Sande. I had brought my trusted portable Bose speaker with me to offer some background music to our day out  with nature. Once the weather got to bitter to bear we decided on walking back home as its not too far from the park, but that meant maneuvering through the sea of tourist taking selfies around the red telephone boxes at White Hall or pictures with Big Ben in view.

Happy Easter!

So are you doing anything special for the Easter/Spring Bank Holidays?

  3. Beautiful! It was 16 here in Holland yesterday and we brought our books down to the park to read on a blanket. Back home I would think that 16 is still too cold but not here - the sun was lovely and warm :)

    1. Thank you. Yes you must come and visit. Romantic yes but I have no idea of the numbers of proposals but I am sure it must be quite significant as the surroundings are just beautiful.

  9. Your photos are beautiful (so much that I had to comment on them first). We go for a picnic often. But the weather over Easter has been rainy, and we spent most of the time inside the house. However, I played a bit of soccer with my nephew and niece in my mother-in-law's kitchen. She didn't like that :)
