London Exploring | Tower Bridge At Night [What to See and Do In London] Pt3

Part Three of my exploring London series is by way of a little night photography on London's Tower Bridge. I usually say to myself that I will go shooting on this bridge but each weekend I come up with an excuse not to go. I guess because over the summer period the sun sets slightly later and I just haven't been bothered to wait until 8 or 9pm for it to set (says the person that went shooting sunsets at midnight in Iceland). I take a lot of things for granted living so central in London. As they are a stone's through away I always put them off in favour of something far away.

So this evening I dragged my boyfriend out with me and plugged it as a little walk because hey "we haven't been doing our usual walks lately". Never mind, that it was a walk that was going to include packing photography equipment as well, which he was also going to help me carry. He is an unpaid photography assistant, he just doesn't know it yet. Like I have said in the previous post in the series, these will act as a way to showcase a little bit of London as an when I go out on photo walks, whether solo, with other Instagrammers and when I drag my boyfriend out to assist. Below are a few shots from a night photography session on Tower Bridge.

Somerset House Fashion Shoot | London Instagrammers Meetup

A few  weeks ago I had the pleasure of joining a London meetup with some of the best Instagrammers from London and around the world. Although there were a few of these meetups happening in other cities being in London I couldn't miss this opportunity. With a few workshops to choose from I opted to do the LightRoom editing and Fashion shoot although there were others involving shots in London's  coolest underground stations, a tour of East London and plus a few more that have escaped my mind. This was all organised by London together with other profesional photographers who were on hand to give tips on taking the best photographs. We also had models on hand styled by Slow Made  with London's fashion designers the likes of Haizhen Wang, Moxham, Georgia Hardinge. You can check out more  of the pictures from the weekend on Instagram via the hashtag #wwim11_london

I will be doing some free shots with fashion and lifestyle bloggers during the weekends in May and June. If you fashion and lifestyle blogger or if you are a stylist wanting to build your portfolio then email me with a link to your blog if you would like to join these sessions. These will all be held in and around London.

Below are some of my shots from the Fashion shoot at Somerset House.

Inspiration for 2014

2014 is all about Zambia! - Picture of Victoria Falls

I am trying very had not to turn this post into a new years resolutions so here goes...

As much as 2013 had a lot of travel, this year I am trying really hard(and I mean hard) not to book so many trips out of the UK. Its tough when Easyjet are constantly emailing you with sales alerts! I am going to be firm with myself and reduce the number of international trips. It doesn't help my case when I am actually writing this in a hotel room in Kronberg, Germany but my excuse is that I am actually here for work so there!

Beginners Photography: Mastering the Basics

Finally, I think summer has arrived. I hope my UK(and those already enjoying the sun around the globe) readers are enjoying the sun before it does a U-turn. The weather has been hot! And I mean HOT!! So hot that I would be surprised if any Londoner told me that they hadn't spotted a host of naked bodies spread across the parks.

The brightening up of the weather has inspired yet more outdoorsy pursuits. Although, this has been difficult lagging around a swollen foot caused by a bike injury. This has surprisingly put me out of both cycling and climbing. Its more painful not being able to do either of these than the actual pain of my swollen foot. I have been left with just admiring pictures of friends who have been out on climbing trips. My sister is so convinced that I had a climbing accident and I am refusing to tell the truth. As if! Sorry to disappoint you sis by this fat knuckle is all due to my hybrid two wheeler. Big foot ain't got nothing on this bad boy right here...I have dragged myself to work though...if I cant climb and I cant cycle I might as well hobble down to Peterborough. This has sadly turned my profile intro into  just a rock-climbing, gadget loving programmer who loves to travel(slower than grannies on zimmer frames mind you).
