Strolling around the city of canals, its so easy to forget the history of this beautiful city. Amsterdam started off as small settlements along the rivers and soon after built dam across river Ij and Amstel. Today this is the centre of the city. While exploring the city one must for not only tourist but locals too, is chillaxing in the many cafes strewn across the capital. What better way to spend the day than meetups over coffee while people watching? Below are a few of my top spots for brunching in Amsterdam.
Papeneiland
This little spot is set on two levels or 3 if you count the basement where the toilets are. This spot does an amazing apple pie. One of the best I have ever tasted in fact and the decor is also easy on the eye too, with rich history to boot. You can see more pictures from my food tour post in Amsterdam
Juice and Salad
I love this place so much for its healthy menu. Perfect for watching Amsterdamers cycle past. On the food front, everything is amazing! Freshly made fruit and veg juice mixes. Larger than life salad portions and all super healthy and filling food, its had not to come back here. Pictures from my visit are below. On the plus side too is that they deliver!
The Screaming Beans
This place is across from Juice and Salad and was within easy reach as our hotel was only a few meters away. Only only great for brunching but wine and dinning too.
Blauwe Theehuis
Located in Vondelpark, the perfect spot for people watching while chilling surrounded by a little nature provided by park surroundings. You can see more pictures from the post my visit to Blauwe Theehuis
De Drie Graefjes
This cute little place is hidden in the backstreets of Dam Square. A small cafe with a cozy feel to it comes with an irresistible array of cakes to accompany the tea selection. See more pictures from my stop over on my Sunday Brunch In Amsterdam post.
Bakers and Rosters
This place is new on the cafe scene but a goodie to add to cafe-hopping when in Amsterdam. I love the vibe of the place. With outdoor seating and good food, what more can one ask for?
I lovedddd the fresh waffles with nutella, my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSo many great cafe's in Amsterdam not to mention how gorgeous it is. The canals of Amsterdam are such a hallmark of the city and pretty much anything Dutch.
ReplyDeleteCafe Langendijk! If I can add one as a Amsterdammert ;) Home made juices, next to the mill and out of the business in the centre.
ReplyDeleteGreat places you recomment though, it looks like :)
Thats going on the list! I may be back in Amsterdam soon so I will check it out.
DeleteGreat food photos! Amsterdam is a place we missed on our big trip to Europe, kinda wish we went there!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. You definitely need to retrace your footsteps and check it out.
