Bathing Beauties on Butler's Wharf

The whole world has been Rio crazy lately, over the football cup in Rio de Janeiro. London is no exception, so you will find lots of excited fans from all around the world celebrating and chanting all around London. Sad that Zambia didn't make it to the cup and my second team(England) was embarrassingly taken down. Well, I guess we can always look on the bright side; both my teams avoided being chewed up by the Suarez biting season.

Whilst on a walk last weekend we ventured across Butler's Wharf as its been a while since I took a stroll there. We were mobbed by a huge and friendly(due to a little dutch carriage served on the boat) group of football fans just coming off an American style boat on the Thames just as we had passed the pier on Butler's Wharf.  We had walked towards the Paul Smith Museum when I suddenly realised that I had missed out on London's Open Gardens Weekend which saw a lot of private gardens open up to the public. You may have seen me post on my Instagram about a cute garden accessory that was also open for the weekend. One particular garden that I was hoping to see was the Garden Barge; Its the capital's only floating garden(s). It lies on seven Thames lighters or vessels that form an open-ended square. Its really beautiful, but sadly as I had lost track of time by the time we  went  out for a little walk. We still managed to see it from across the river though.

You can find this Garden Barge on the south-side of the river and east of Tower Bridge just a few meters from Butlers Wharf  but before you get there, there is another little gem; the bathing beauties - a fountain sculpture named "Waterfall". These ladies can be found bathing outside the Horselydown Square, a little courtyard just off Shad Thames at the bottom of Tower Bridge. There are lots of cafes around  if you get tired from watching the ladies splash about.
